Psycho-Educational Assessments provide guidance in understanding your child or personal strengths and areas of development as well as interests.

Psycho-educational assessments Offered: GDE, IEB, school readiness, subject choice and Career psycho-educational assessments.

How do you know if your child should have an psycho-educational assessments done?

If observations of your child’s progress at school and at home does not correlate, or if  you get complaints from your child’s school of:

  • being easily distracted
  • not listening
  • appears to be day-dreaming
  • not performing at the expected grade level
  • does not finish tests in time provided
  • often asks for questions to be repeated
  • takes a while to start activities

The assessment process is insightful to assist in understanding individual needs and how to accommodate these needs within a holistic framework.

Psycho-educational assessments make use of cognitive, scholastic, emotional and neurological assessments. This assist us in understanding the strengths and areas which require support. Psycho-educational assessments include assessing for suspected ADHD, learning difficulties in reading, writing and mathematics, stress and anxiety.

Career assessments focuses on three areas, namely: interest, aptitude and personality. Together these may assist in providing additional information for possible subject choices and careers for the future.
